What do you do when you don’t have time to cook your favourite dish?
You make a coldroom.
Make a banana-flavored coldroom using just a few ingredients and you can make your favourite foods taste like banana.
The technique used in this banana coldrooms recipe comes from a popular Indian cookbook called The Banana and the Coldroom.
Here’s how to make it.
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180C/Gas mark 6.
Take the peel of a banana and cut it into 3-4 pieces.
Step 2: Take 1 cup of water and add it to a pan.
Pour in the boiling water, cook for 1 minute.
Step 3: Add the chopped banana and cook for 2 minutes.
Step 4: Stir in the dry ingredients.
Step 5: Add all the dry mix into the hot water.
Step 6: Bring the mixture to the boil and then boil for 10 minutes.
It should be thick, but still not thick enough to form a cake.
Step 7: Remove the pan from the heat and let cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 8: Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 9: Place the cooled cake on a baking sheet.
Step 10: Let the cake cool completely before slicing it.
If it’s not too soft, you can cut it in half and slice it.
